The company history

«Tradition is not keeping ashes, but keeping a flame burning (Jean Jaurés).»

This is how the history of the Nanzer company can be summed up.
And it all began in 1952:

1952 Walter Nanzer founded the company "NANZER" and moved into his studio in the centre of Lucerne. Soon the Nanzer engraving studio was known by private customers, businesses and authorities for its reliability and precision craftsmanship.

1969 Urs Nanzer and his wife Renata took over the business. With the support of a part-time employee, Urs devoted himself to the craft, Renata to administration and bookkeeping. The joint commitment and the joy of working independently allowed the business to grow.

1977 Urs and Renata acquired their own studio in Adligenswil, equipped to meet all the modern requirements of the engraving trade.

1980 the business expanded to include a branch on Hirschengraben in Lucerne, which was sold in 1994 and renamed Allegra. The studio in Adligenswil continued to supply the shop, and the business relationship continued hand in hand.

1991 A new location was now essential, because for Nanzers, growth and innovation of the company's range of products were always a matter of the heart.

A new industrial building in Adligenswil, Winkelbüel 3, offered the desired space and setting - and that is where you will find us today with our managing director Charlotte Estermann and her team!

2010 the company was handed over. Urs Nanzer sold the family business. Charlotte Estermann was no stranger to Urs and Renata Nanzer. After completing her apprenticeship as an EFZ engraver, Charlotte had been working with the Nanzers since 2009. She brought in new ideas and bought the business in 2010.

She runs the company with her team under the motto: combine the tried and tested with new directions.

2017 NANZER Gravuren GmbH acquires the sales branch in Lucerne anew; it had belonged to the Nanzer company until 1994.

2021 the shop in the heart of Lucerne at Hirschengraben 13 was restored and is now both a supplier for the entire product range of Nanzer Gravuren GmbH and a sought-after specialist stamp shop with a fine range of special gifts. Incidentally, it is the only specialist shop of its kind in Lucerne.
